I (sorta) promise I'm not a shopaholic.

It kind of seems like I do a lot of shopping but I promise that's not the case!  My thing is makeup.  Do I actually need any of it?  Of course not! But if Husband tells me you have (insert money limit)  that you can spend on whatever, I will most likely gravitate towards makeup.  Never fails.  I really should be buying clothes but, pft, lipstick is way more of a necessity.  Right?  Right.

Urban Decay was my first 'high end' makeup product I bought and it just so happens to be one of my absolute favorite brands.  I'm definitely a 'color' girl and Urban Decay is definitely the place you go to for bright, fun colors!

I originally just wanted to try out their newly released lipsticks but turns out they were having a sale!  SCORE!  I'm going to warn you.  There is A LOT of purple here.  Since I have green eyes purple is my BAM color.  And who doesn't want an eyeshadow that makes your eyes go 'BAM'?!

Let's get the boring stuff out of the way first.  I got this setting spray in sample size just try it out last year and fell in love with it.  I used to live in Louisiana and it worked wonders for keeping my makeup on.  Now, living in Houston, where it's probably a thousand degrees hotter, I had to invest in some more of this miracle spray!  If you live in an area that hot and humid I'd definitely recommend this stuff!

And here we are about to jump into some serious purple.  I've been loving the natural eye with a pop of color look lately and I saw these were on sale so I grabbed a couple.  Believe it or not I actually didn't have any colored eyeliners.  The top swatch is actually Ransom and the bottom is Lust.  Looking at the packaging it looks like Ransom would be darker than Lust but that's not the case.  Ransom is actually brighter, while Lust is a little bit deeper with added shimmer.

Continuing with the purple I picked up an eyeshadow in the color Omen. It's a lovely duotone of purple and blue and is going to look absolutely gorgeous on the lower lash line!

Surprise, surprise.  More purple!  I've never owned any of the Deluxe eyeshadows by UD they of course do not disappoint.  They are, just like all UD shadows, ridiculously smooth and I'm sure will blend like a dream. I just love how cute that packaging is!  The blue is Peace and the purple is Ransom and they were only $4.00!  That's just craziness.

Another product I had never tried before from UD was their cream blush.  I got the color Fetish and I was a little scared it would be way too dark from the look on the website, but that's totally not the case.  It looks dark in the packaging but it actually goes on a lot lighter!  I think this will be perfect for the 'natural flush' look and can't wait to try it out!

I feel like there should be some kind of awesome and exciting music to show the last product.  I definitely saved the best for last.  The new Revolution Lipstick.  O. M. G.  It is absolutely AMAZING.  This color is Turn On and it is GORGEOUS.  It's the prettiest medium colored pink and glides on like a dream.  It's ridiculously creamy and pigmented. Once these hit stores in my area, I'm definitely going to be checking out the other colors in the line!

If you liked any of the products I ordered a few are actually still on sale!  ;)

Keeping it basic.

There are times when I want to get out the house and don't have a lick of makeup on, and then there are times where I actually try and look decent.  I'm definitely not one of those people who has to have a full face of makeup to walk out the house.  Let's be realistic.  I have two kids.  But on the rare occasion I actually feel up to 'putting on a face' so I go for it.  Today was that day so here's a look at my 'everyday' go to look.

I start with Aveeno Positively Radiant Daily Moisturizer with SPF 30 and a Nivea Lip Butter.  If you don't like a strong sunscreen smell you might want to avoid that one.  It's so potent that if I rub my face on my husband or kids I can smell it on them.

After that kind of soaks in I add eye primer to both my lids and under eye area to avoid creasing from both my shadow and concealer.  I had been using thebalms concealer for awhile but it's a little heavy and creases so I've returned back to the Maybelline Age Rewind Eraser for the time being.

I then move on to set everything with my Cargo powder that I've finally hit pan on.  I like to use powder instead of foundation because I don't really need much coverage and I hate feeling like my face can't breath in this Houston heat.  I'll occasionally try different foundations out and wear it for 'special' occasions just to feel fancy (because foundation makes me fancy, of course).

And lastly, for my face, I fill in my brows.  I use the Anastasia brow powder kit and an angled brush and focus more on the areas that need it.  My left brow for some odd reason has a gap in it.  It's always been there and I have no idea why.

And now on to the eyes!  I already primed my lids when I was putting my face on so I go straight into putting the Maybelline Color Tattoo in Bad to the Bronze.  I. Love. This. Stuff.  I apply it to my lid and blend it with my finger and honestly sometimes that's all I wear.  But, since we're going for of a 'I tried this morning' look I take it a step further and blend a taupe color into my crease and on my lower lash line.

Next, I line my upper waterline with Urban Decay's Rockstar 24/7 pencil to make my lashes look a little more full.  Then, I curl my lashes and add mascara.  I just started using the Covergirl Waterproof Lashexact in Very Black and I'm not sure if I completely love it but I normally don't like mascara until it starts to dry out a little anyway.  Weird.  I know.

The blush I'm obsessed with is NYX Dusty Rose.  I've been obsessed with it for awhile now and have barely put a dent in it.  I think it looks the most natural for my skin tone and I'm cool with that!

Now, the Hoola bronzer is an extra.  Sometimes I do it, sometimes I don't.  I never really figured out if I can apply it and not look crazy so I apply just a little.  I mean why not, right?  You could also use bronzer in your crease instead of the taupe eyeshadow and it would work the same and it would be one less product you would have to grab.

For lips I usually just add whatever is in my purse when I'm heading out of the door.  And if we're being honest most of my lip collection is in my purse anyway.  Don't judge, you know you do it too.  Today I dabbed a little of the Wet n Wild lipstick in Hot Pink and blended it in with my finger just to give my lips a little more color and then top it off with the L'oreal Colour Riche Lip Balm in Caring Coral.  This is the only L'oreal balm I have and I love it!  Although there isn't a huge color pay off, it's pretty moisturizing to the lips and the packaging is pretty too!

And here's the final look!  After looking at this picture again, I guess it's kind of a 'no makeup, makeup look'.  Just enough to make me look alive. ;)

I know it may seem like a lot of products but it's really not.  I don't cake it on and I've gotten so in the habit of everything it literally takes me minutes.

And since I'm amazing (just kidding, but really) I took a picture of swatches of all the products I used minus the not so fun stuff like concealer and powder.

Are you okay with going out the house without makeup?
What's your everyday makeup routine?

Until next time!

NOTD: Fourth of July

I had a little free time last night to paint my nails so why not get festive for the Fourth?!  I've been seeing tons of NOTD on Instagram and decided to join in the fun!

I started off with clean nails and used Butter London's Nail Foundation.  I had never used a base coat before Husband surprised me with this one Valentine's Day.  I'm pretty rough with my nails so I really don't know if it makes that much of a difference so I think I do it more out of habit than anything else.  The topcoat on the other hand, I love.  It's shiny and dries quick which are two things this girl loves.

Nothing screams Fourth of July at you more than red, white, and blue!
Sally Hansen Instadri in Rapid Red is the BEST red.  It's literally a mom's dream.  It's fast drying and I only had to use one coat.  Yes, you read that right.  ONE. COAT.  Plus the price isn't bad either at only $4.99.  Amazing.

The white nail polish is Reverso by Andrea's Choice.  I got this in an Ipsy bag back in the day and never really used it before.  Besides for feeling like I was putting whiteout on my nails it's actually pretty decent.  It took only 2 coats to get it opaque and it's literally in your face, BAM, white.

The blue is Baker Street by Nails, Inc.  I've been obsessed with finding this color ever since I saw it on the blog A Little Obsessed.  Coincidence?  I think not.  I mean click the link and see if you don't want to hunt the color down after looking at her nails!  They're GORGEOUS!  It was sold out at my local Sephora for the longest time until one of the lovely ladies there showed me it was actually on sale and had a special edition sparkly cap.  SOLD. If you can't find it on sale and want to spend a little less check out Sally Hansen's Pacific Blue  I think it's a pretty close dupe.

And if you're anything like me and your eye was instantly drawn to that lovely bottle of sparkles it's Essie Set In Stones.  It's one of the luxeffects and it's the prettiest silver glitter.  Now, like most glitters, you need to pat it on instead of dragging to actually get the glitter on your nail.  Ahh, it's SO sparkly!  Love it.

If you're curious about the watch I'm wearing, read about it here!

What do your nails look like today?
Do you have any plans for the Fourth?

Oh snap! I went shopping... again!

Since moving to the Houston area husband has been spoiling me left and right and I'm not complaining!  I usually go by myself but every now and then we'll strap the kids into the stroller and take a family trip to our local mall. I had been eyeing a Fossil watch for the past two weeks and hinting about it and husband finally gave me those three little words of 'go get it' and I was doing flips.  IT'S SO PRETTY.  I love it!!  Let me quit blabbing and show you the goods along with a few other things I picked up.

Ahhh, I just love it so much! Let's just take a minute to appreciate it for a minute...........Okay that's long enough. :)  I have another watch from Fossil that's rose gold with links and it's pretty fancy so I wanted something a little toned down for everyday wear.  This one is the Heather Three Hand Leather Watch in Grey although I think it's more of a grey/brown but I kinda love that because it will literally go with anything. According to the website the strap is also interchangeable which is a pretty nice feature if you wanted to get a different size or color.  If you are on a little more of a budget or if you don't quite want to spend $115 on a watch there's a sale going on at Fossil and you can get the Heather Three Hand Leather Watch in Brown for $79.99! You're welcome ;)

SO PRETTY!

Next place we went was Urban Outfitters.  We didn't have one where I used to live in Louisiana so I'm kind of obsessed.  I picked up the Love You Always Necklace which was actually on sale for $4.99 (SCORE!) and the Snowbunny Delicate Stone Necklace for $16.00.  They look super cute alone or layered with each other.  The only problem I have is the chain on the Love necklace is a little stiff but it was only $5 so I guess I can't complain too much. I also picked up another 'midi' ring.  I already have 2 from UO and I wear them pretty much every day.  This one has a black stone with gold detailing, it fits perfectly, and it was also husband's favorite!

As we were walking our way back through the mall to leave, husband spotted Aldo and noticed they were having a sale and pointed it out to me. I was content with what I already had and he throws shoes at me.  Best. Husband. Ever.  I found 'fancy' flip flops on sale for $29.  These may not be 'fancy' to some people but I walk around in the rubber ones most days so this is definitely considered fancy to me.  In reality they weren't that great of a sale because they were only $5 off but whatever they're cute.

I'm staring to see a pattern with gold here...

All that shopping worked up an appetite so we hit up The Cheesecake Factory.  Way back when husband and I were first dating we took a trip to Austin to visit his grandma and tried it out and had a pretty good experience.  This time?  Not so much.

Fruit flies.  I HATE fruit flies.  I deal the every day struggle of keeping the little bastards out of my house.  I DO NOT want to see them when I'm eating at a restaurant.  Yuck.  Husband ordered the summer spring rolls and they were very attracted to it.  Not my favorite.   I'm not one for cold food but it was okay...until I tried what I think was peanut sauce.  Barf. I got past the way it looked and the fact that it was cold but I could not for the life of me eat anymore after that peanut sauce.

I really hate when restaurants have a menu that's 20 pages long.  I felt overwhelmed and ended up ordering the shrimp and bacon sandwich.  If you are on a diet avoid this.  I know the bacon would probably be an indicator of not healthy but holy mayo and bread! Tons of mayo and 3 slices of bread.  I could barely put it in my mouth. (That's what she said) I took a few bites then picked at it.  Again, not my fav. We probably wont be making another trip to eat here because none of us really enjoyed it.  We did get a turtle cheesecake that I thought was okay but nothing special.

That pretty much concludes our day Sunday.  We spent the rest of the day relaxing until it was time for the kids to go to bed so we could watch True Blood.  Which I am loving by the way.  Yes I am from Louisiana and no I do not speak like that. Just in case you were wondering ;)

Enough about me.  How was your day?

NOTD

(L'oreal Royalty reinvented, Nicole by OPI Naturally)

I wanted to do something 'springy' and figured I'd try out the Selena Gomez Nail polish at the same time!  I absolutely LOVE the L'oreal nail polish.  It's amazing!  I definitely want to try out the other colors in that line.  Now, the Selena Gomez nail polish?  Not my fav. I don't know if I'm just spoiled to my butter london nail polish or that amazing L'oreal one but JEEZ was it streaky!  I had to use like 3 coats and make the last one a little thick.  It's a really pretty color but the formula is disappointing.  I hope it doesn't chip easy because there's nothing worse than doing your nails and it chipping the next day.  We shall see!

*and of course I used my Butter London base and topcoat :)

Birthday goodies!

When I get any kind of money for birthday or just a little bit of spending my first thought is always 'ULTA!'  If you were to look at my collection it's pretty obvious that I don't actually need anything.  So, uh.. Hi, my name is Jamie and I'm obsessed with beauty products.

Lately, I've been completely obsessed with nails so I cannot get enough nail polish!  My favorite brand at the moment is Butter London.  They're expensive at $15 but O M G are they worth it!  I love the range of colors, how it only takes 1-2 coats, and last a pretty long time on my nails.

OPI has the best glitter nail polish. If you ask anyone who knows me they'll tell you I love sparkles.  The people at my last job used to joke that if I had anything sparkly in my sight I wouldn't work (they were probably right).

Last, but definitely not least, is L'oreal.  I found this little gem and I can't believe how amazing it is!  I figured I'd try it because I'd heard a few people say they really enjoyed it and I'm so glad I got it!  Not only is it just $5.99, I only needed TWO coats.  Totally opaque. Mind Blown. I'll definitely be checking more of these out.

(MacadamiaReal Techniques, Benefit 'Ulta' mate sexy six)

I've heard a lot about the Macadamia line and I've really wanted to try it, but I didn't want to spend $30 on a giant tub of hair mask and hate it. So, I was pretty excited when I found the sample size for $4.  If I love it I can spend the $30 but if I hate it then no biggie.

The Expert face brush by Real Techniques has been on my list for awhile but I could never find it.  I was so excited when I saw the shelf has been restocked.  I have another face brush by them and I really like them.  I think these are the new 'It' brush drugstore wise.  These are pretty affordable around $9 a brush.  I'm really excited to try this one out!

Benefit is a brand I've recently gotten into.  I have a few blushes and the lipgloss matching the blushes are my absolute favorite.  I've been eyeing high beam and the hoola bronzer for awhile but I just couldn't commit.  Normally, when it comes to make-up, I'm all balls in and want to try it but I could not for the life of me purchase a full size of these!  So, the girl who was working the Benefit counter recommended I try the sample set.  Why on earth did I not think of that?! I have a love/hate relationship with this set.  I hate that I LOVE everything in it! I'm going to be trying them out until they run out but I'm sure I'll be buying the full size of all of these.

Until my next beauty adventure!
Adios Amigos!

Top 3 Favorite Body Washes

I'm definitely a big fan of anything that can be used in the bathtub. Lately it's been body washes. I've found three that I have fallen in love with and have bought multiple back ups of. Here's my list and what I love about them:

Photobucket
NIVEA Touch of Happiness with orange blossom and bamboo essence:
My sister-in-law actually recommended this to me when I was using Pacifica Blood Orange. She told me it was pretty close to it so I decided to try it out. Turns out I love it way more than Pacifica and have been using it ever since. Nivea is a much more creamy orange scent and is great for a wake me up in the morning. It lathers great and feels amazing. It's also hubby approved!

Photobucket
Olay Luscious Embrace Moisturizing with jojoba butter & crushed orchid extract:
The packaging of this product drew me to it first. I grabbed it, gave it a sniff, and fell in love. With its floral scent, this is the ultimate girly body wash. The scent actually stays on your skin after you towel off! It's definitely my go to body wash when I'm going to be wearing shorts. I found its great for shaving and leaves my skin soft and moisturized. I really don't have to use a lotion after using it, which is great because in Louisiana, lotion legs in the heat makes its ten times hotter.

Photobucket
Dial NutriSkin Goji berry and Orchid:
Gummy bears. This body wash smells just like gummy bears. I grab this one the most because if the scent. I can't help be just be happy when using it!

What are your favorite body washes?
